Float Rating Pkgs

OPTION #1 We do Seaplane Rating packages in our Maule MX7-180 for a true Alaskan Bush experience! Our package will include a weeklong stay in a remote wilderness cabin at a fly-in only lake, custom built to your requirements. We can offer anything from a completely catered package including daily meals, or just the cabin stay with fishing, trails, and a complete wilderness experience. We have lakes available with excellent Pike fishing, or Trout & Silver Salmon. A powered boat and fishing equipment is included for all cabin packages. Package will include a fly-in trip with you and your significant other, and daily floatplane instruction. You are free to fish, hike, or just kick back and enjoy the wonderful scenery in your free time. I can guarantee a vacation you will always remember, and at the end of the week, you return to Fairbanks, do a checkride with an FAA examiner, and return home with your Seaplane Rating.

OPTION #2 We also offer a Seaplane Rating package here in Fairbanks for those of you not interested in a remote cabin stay. We have discontinued the package deal due to the wide difference in pilot experience, skill levels, currency, etc. We charge a flat hourly rate and have found that the average pilot will require 5-6 hours of instruction prior to being confortable and ready for a check ride. I have had students who were ready in as little as 3 hours, and have had students who were in no rush, enjoyed the local flying, that we spent 10-12 hours with, but find this to be an exception. When you feel comfortable in the plane, and are competent, we schedule a checkride with an FAA examiner and you return home with your rating in your pocket. We also offer Flight reviews on floats, advanced training, or if you just want to do some dual on floats by the hour. You will find a wide variety of lakes, and rivers here within a 25 mile radius of town, so very little time spent commuting to suitable locations. Sorry, due to insurance costs, there is no solo available.
